I don't really take offense. I usually refer to them as quadcopter. I'm not a pilot so I usually refer to myself as an operator. It's a funny industry that is forming around them none the less. I'm awaiting my FAA exemption currently to operate commercially.

There are so many great uses for them outside all the idiots that are casting a bad shadow over the industry.

I only ask because in the Air Force we have Drones and we have RPA's. The twp are very different, and you should not get them mixed up. Especially around their respective operators.

Just curious if your community feels the same way.

I'd love to buy one in the near future. I'm waiting for the price to come down a bit on some of the premium models.

I've been eyeing them for a while now (I shoot car videos for a living), but the rules for commercial use are ridiculous over here at the moment. As in: written permission by the mayor of the town you're taking of from 3 weeks in advance, etc. But rules are about to become a lot more realistic, so I guess I'll be flying soon.

MartijnGizmo, they would be a great tool for car videos especially with the follow me features that the DJI drones are capable of. The rules are quickly changing here in the states as well due to all the idiots using them carelessly. I hope to have my exemption soon so that I can really start pushing commercial work.

It's been some time since I've logged in with an update. I miss the M|U. I wanted to post an update. I still have my 05 mini with 60k miles on the clock. I shot this last season on an overcast day. I had a blast filming the car.

Hope you all enjoy!
