You'll get better results posting what you want to do then. As Glen says, you'll be better off going to a 215 or 225/40 or 45 at the most unless you go to a smaller diameter rim or use the measures I mentioned above.

Yup... Bob nailed it, of course we've been exchanging PMs, etc.
Sidewall for all the reasons mentioned, most importantly traction, and the added bonus of a larger diameter to make up for my mandated 6750 shift points. After many many hours of searching, I'll stick with my original plan of 225/50/15s and just upshift sooner... rather then extend my MPH by lowering the gear ratios with a tall tire. |

9.5 ET25 is right around where things start to get fuzzy. I'm running 16x9 ET25. Unfortunately I haven't been able to measure how much room I have left.
There is a thread where we discuss if/how 9.5s will fit. Gimme a sec and I'll link it. 8.5 ET30 is prolly gonna have issues too. And what tire size are you considering? With a good amount of stretch you can fit pretty much anything, anywhere right Flamez? ![]() |

I'm at a 17" x 8" front wheels at a ET 32
And there is not much room on the inside of the wheel. I'm running close to the springs, don't have exact measurements... If I can get them I will post up...

well there were some keskins online for little money in that size so I was wondering... with a 215/35/18 tire but i guess the 9,5 in combination with 18" is killing.. I found that thread.. thanks for the tip.. I guess I let the wheels go.. 8,5x18 is some I would dare.. but 9,5... after reading the 9,5 topic I am not sure it will ever fit nicely.. Thanks for the response tho! ![]() Cheers Coen ![]() |

Hi,
Here's another question for you experts. I'm looking to buy the Keskin KT4 for my MCS 2006 equiped with the JCW package (with limited slip differential, JCW Brake kit and of course the JCW Engine Kit). For now, it on factory suspension. I'm thinking of the 17x8 et35 for the front and 17x9 et30 for the back. I have two questions. First, will the Keskin work with the JCW Brake kit? Second, Can I fit 225/35 R17 tires (Falken FK-452) on the back? I know that it's normally 215/40 R17 that people use, but I was thinking of a little less stretching (I'm a bit conservative, I know). For the front, I would go with 205/40 R17 tires (Falken FK-452). Thanks |

Another solution I am looking at is to put the 17x8 et35 Keskin KT4 in the front and back and put 215/40 R17 tires on it. Did anybody do this (I've seen this combo with 205/40 or 205/45 tires only), will it rub?

running 17x9 et30's on the rear isn't for the conservative at heart. Of course it depends on the true width of the tire (which varies among tire brands), but most 225's would rub a great deal on that setup when lowered. This is true of the 452's which stretch a little, but not a whole lot.
You'd be better off with the second scenario that you listed, but even then 205's would be preferred if you're going to really lower the car. |

Ok... so here's the question
Using stock wheels (15" holies) on my R50, what would be a decent all season tire besides the 175/65-15. I want to go wider and lower profile but until I can afford my 'performance' wheels - well let's just say I need a new set of tires really quick ![]() I have plans but gotta wait for a little more cash in the bank - and yes there is a family of bears (kodiacs or grizzlys not sure yet) living behind my continentals right now, but they're peaceful as long as I feed them once in a while...

Damn! You haven't been around in a while! How wide are the wheels? 6"? 6.5"?
