Default MOTD Kickball Game

Kickball at the Dragon! (KATD)

We will settle the greatest debate in MINIdom: Which is better [at kickball]... 1st Gen MINI [owners] or 2nd Gen MINI [owners]?

Everyone is invited to play and/or cheer for their preferred MINI Generation (Countryman owners can join 2nd Gen or whoever needs people). We will have 30 people kick for each team if we have to. It's just for fun, anyway. The winning team gets to declare their MINI Generation "the best", at least until next year!

When: ~4:15 PM on Friday (following the Car Show, but won't overlap the Brew Swap)
What to bring: No equipment needed... but if you want to bring donuts or beer to celebrate every run scored by your team, that may add to the fun!

More details to be added later and subject to change.

Please post up if you're interested!

Team 1st Gen:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
...

Team 2nd Gen:
1. Blainestang
2. O2BlueMINI
3. Uncle Ryan
4.
5.
6.
...

I've been thinking it would be a lot of fun to set up a friendly Kickball game one day at MOTD on the baseball field.

Kickball is easy because you basically only need a kickball... no gloves, bats, etc, that people have to squeeze into their MINIs, among other reasons.

To make it a little more interesting, I was thinking we could make it a friendly competition, too. For instance, 1st Gen MINIs vs. 2nd Gen MINIs, or Hardtops vs. Everybody else (Convertibles, Clubman, Countryman)... something like that.

I know it's a little bit late notice, but I'm sure getting a kickball by next week would be no problem.

So, anybody interested?

Any other ideas/comments/suggestions?

Long time no post... but I don't see any 1st Gen teams - wha?

And since Mr.C (who has decided to throw out his sholder) is staying home and I'll be in a 2nd Gen ride, I can't speak for everyone, this does sound like fun.

I just decided to do this a couple days ago (and only finalized a time last night), so it hasn't had a lot of time to develop interest. That said, I've gotten a some positive responses on NAM, MA, and Sunshine MINIs, so I think it's just a matter of getting the word out. I'll be putting up some posters at MOTD, maybe making up some flyers, and maybe making an announcement at the car show. Word of mouth is going to be important also, so feel free to mention it to people!

As far as the teams go, youre welcome to be on whichever team you want, even if you're leaving the R50 at home!

I'll have to check my medical coverage first - just to be sure that for old codgers, kickball is a covered injury

Personally, I'm shooting for no injuries. It's just for fun, so I don't expect any colisions at home plate or anything like that!

I hear you on that - but I remember kick ball truning into dodge ball at times - not that it wasn't fun - I'm just saying

True... I haven't decided exactly what to do with the rules regarding throwing the ball AT people to get them out... might need a couple adjustments.
