I think we have covered this already. But what lights function as what when you just swap them it.
With the correct wiring diagram would it not be possible to just pop the pins out of the harness connector and arrange them so that the correct lights come on. Then route the back up light signal wire to the tail lights? |

Only thing i had to do was add a jumper wire for the reverse lights, which was easily done in the pass housing area. All the other lights seem to function exactly as they should. Having three reverse lights is nice...lol
Ill try to get a video of everything functioning for ya. |

Added the pre face lift reverse to my car plug and play not sure going the other way but I'll second the 3 reverse lights as being nice even though my originals now light red

I put the diode jumper in my taillights (pre-face lift) for the rear fogs to act as brake lights not long after getting the car. 5 brake lights instead of 3 is a good thing (especially the way some morons like to tailgate).

Dang, just now seeing that ^^. If you are still needing the correct wire, LMK and ill pull one of my tail-lights out.
Also, if memory serves right, i had to run a single jumper wire to the other side to activate both side lights. Sorry for the no video yet... |

Ok, video coming shortly.
For reference, i have a June 03 build MCS. In the well of your pass tail-light, the wiring for the center reverse light goes through a small hole, this is where i tapped for the tail-light reverse lights. The wire with-in on mine is Green/yellow stripe. Small jumper wire to the pass taillight taps into Yellow/Black stripe. Long jumper wire to driver taillight taps into Yellow/Brown stripe. The connectors going into the taillights are mirror images of each other in reference to wire/light pin location. Each side has different wiring coding though. So, for the reverse lights, they are each on the "outside" or furthest away from the center of the car. Dirty, i know, and not the best connectors, but they have served well for two years now. Little bit of di-electric grease and good to go. Pass: ![]() Last edited by KC Jr 54; 11-14-2011 at 11:22 PM.. |

Please excuse the dirty car, and the shitty tint on the lights. Also, the blinker is very fast b/c i am running leds blinkers up front w/o the proper resistors.

Ok I found all the wires. My bumper back up light does not work, I had assumed it was a bad back up switch on my trans. But even after the trans swap it does not work (not the bulb). So I wired it to a toggle to use as a fog light.
Now I need to find out how to get power back to the wire so I can tap the new tails. |
