So had a awesome day at Cadwell Park UK track day on Sunday, this place is amazing. Pictures and videos just cannot reveal the undulating and narrow features of this amazing place.
its a very fast flowing and unforgiving track full of crests, blind corners and close barriers all of which have contributed to its nickname "The Mini Nurburgring"...

And I'm not kidding about the barriers....

It's one of those places where you can only really drive at 7/10th's as the lack of run off makes it almost impossible to push the car 100%. After watching a video of a BMW M3 lose it at Charlies, slide off to the right and fly off down the hill and over the other side of the track crossing just after Mansfield corner and smashing the front of the car to pieces you think "I'll take this one easy" after all I wanted to drive the car home.

Still, with all that in mind is was the most fun I've ever had in my car as you can just about see from the grin on my face in this photo....

I have a lot to learn when it comes to track driving, I don't claim to be a driving god and I will be looking to improve on my next visit. I had a bit of tuition about half an hour before the trackday finished and will be looking to get some of that in a bit earlier next time.

I had the gopro on most of the day, but sadly the battery died during my tutor laps so nothing to see my improvements really. Heres a 1:52:14 lap which looks to be the quickest lap I had on camera (headphone users, the exhaust is quite loud)...

The gopro's POV really doesn't capture how narrow this place is but if you pause at 1:13 sec's just look at how much room there is between the edge of the track, the Caterham and my Mini and bear in mind a Caterham 7 is only about 1.5 to 1.6 metres in width! :o

Here is a little race later in the day from the camera on my friends Mini, as you can tell the tyres are really taking a beating here!

This was an amazing day, weather was 25°C and above until 15 mins before the end the heavens opened and it had a bit of a rain. Some more snaps of the car on track courtesy of the Opentrack photographers Rowan & Tony Harrison

The car handled and pulled great all day without a single issue and no oil usage at all, the only thing that needs improvement is the driver

Those pics are great. Your car sounded as good as it looked too. How many db's at 5k did you register?
