Nice updates man. I'm sure all of us have thought about a part out. With the shit I've been though I know I have. But like you said just taking a seat away from it and look at it made me change my mind.

Did you ever get the wink mirror in?

I couldn't think of a replacement either. It didn't help that I knew it would end up just as awkward and awesome to drive plus I wouldn't be able to leave the interior/engine/everything alone.

The wink mirror isn't fitted. I tried to make brackets out of some aluminium but they looked rubbish. I googled for a solution and I found a type of bracket that exists but for another application. The thing is, I've completely forgotten what it was called or what it's normally used for

Going back to standard would've been a massive pain too.

Sparco, Momo and OMP have the same PCD. I bought an OMP boss for the Nardi but had to buy a spacer due to the different PCD.

Thanks

Got some bits back from paint yesterday. I'm really happy with the majority of the work but one of the seat backs has just had paint laid over original scratches and they're plainly visible. I hope the conversation with the painter isn't too awkward. Whatever this mental condition is, it's definitely getting worse with age.

Why bother with a half arsed job though? I wake up in the morning and see my bedroom with interior parts placed all over and keep telling myself it won't be like this next year

I did Cadwell Park at the weekend. Posting the same thing across multiple forums is super lame but I'm waiting for more pics to come through.

I started off slow but eventually picked up the pace. The Mini was a joy to drive and I wasn't upset over my only engine mods being an airfilter and a 15% pulley. The engine will be addressed at some point but I'm unsure which direction to take and it's still way down the priority list.

Must be some serial compression in these pics as the car was raised almost 20mm. i guess a couple of centimetres isn't much when you think about it but still.

Here's Lawrence and I doing a lap when we realised the door wasn't shut properly This pic really illustrates how the track goes up and down as well as left and right.

Finally fitting the passenger harness:

Rich found time to take a pic. The majority of the plastics are in and they're all dark grey to match the colour the doorcard plastics came in. Spot the red stitch trollin me hard.

Next up is refitting the splits, lowering and dialling in rear camber for Mini in the Park next Sunday. If the burgers are good and I don't get sunburnt I'll be happy.
