Default Let's talk shaving...

So I have an R53 bumper laying around in my garage that I want to shave, and I need help! I plan on shaving the indicators, but that's it. Not nearly as involved as my original plans, but I don't have the time to dedicate to a more intense shave project. So, what's the best way to DIY? What materials do I need? Techniques?

Thanks in advance!

You use the same plastic as the bumper so that it can properly bond. You cut a shape and fill the hole. You weld it to the bumper. You do the necessary bodywork. You prime. You redo the bodywork. You re-prime. You get it painted.

It's not exactly a mod done by many so I wouldn't say there is a common location. Most VW guys hide them as thing LED strips in a grille somewhere up front.

You either do that or find a way to put a flashing amber light in your headlamp housing.

Did chase ever post the pics in his thread about how we did his?

I say if you're gonna shave it, do it right. Do everything you want to do. No point in just shaving a few things because you don't have time. If you don't have time to do it all in one sitting, that's fine. I think you'llbe disappointed if you take the time to shave one thing, but not the rest.
