I could of swore I saw a article on Jalopnik that it was supposed to be a Toyota with the emblems no? and dubbed the next supra.

It does look pretty rad. Not sure about the trunk having "Scion" on it. I'm sure you'll see some with that shaved off and Toyota badges lol.

Naw, they announced a few months ago that the US version was gonna be a Scion. The Japanese version is probably a Toyota, though. Better Scion than Lexus, imo. It would suck to have to pay for the Lexus name.

Bad call deciding on the Scion brand. I'm guessing it will push away a bunch of potential customers that aren't looking to buy a 'kids car'.

Just call it a Toyota Celica Supra and be done with it.

Exactly. And I'm willing to bet that it won't have the "kids" price tag. Too bad on either count.

I donno, Scion being a "kids brand" doesn't seem to stop any older people down here from buying them. I'm hoping that it being introduced as a Scion is a hint that it'll be a relatively affordable sports car. The car screams Evo/STI mid-30k range to me, but the Scion brand says sub-30k.

This is true, but generally speaking (and maybe this because I live(d) in college towns), I'd say that 90% of the Scion drivers I see are college/high school kids or recent grads. I wouldn't say that "older" individuals wouldn't buy it, but it definitely seems like the wrong demographic. Particularly if it isn't sub $30k.

Agree 100% ... to me Toyota = practicality, value and middle age and Sicon = hip, sporty, value, and modability.

From a marketing perspective this car screams Scion over Toyota. Same reason I personally think the GTR should have been sold as an Infiniti here. Sales wise you would have more Porsche shoppers picking it up.
