Default Ash's Motard

(thanks for the term Tüls!)

Well, it's about time I put up some pics of the car. It's my second Mini (first got totalled) but I've gotta say I'm digging on the R56. I mean, except for the looks, let's not get crazy.

Anyways, here's what she looks/ed like...

First day home

Ordered the brushed aluminum interior but the dash came Liquid Silver () Dealership fixed it no problem. A little chrome on the inside.

First time on the track (Virginia International Raceway)

Now even better with ASA AR2s, JCW grill trim, M7 Aero grills, and Cooper side markers)

And a couple of pics from an ACNA trackday at VIR the week before the Dragon this year.

Already did the beltline blackout while I was at MOTD. The plan for the weekend is to paint the gascap, taillight and headlight rings PW and joey-mod the lights PW with a gloss black xenon ring.( Don't think anyone's done theirs like that, we'll see how it looks!)

Really digging the ride, I hate the term Motard though. I really dig the R56. I like the chromeline interior and brushed alloy dash.

oh it's definitely bigger, but you have to see it next to an R53 to really see it other than the longer nose.

I had the Mach V springs sitting on my front porch when I got home from MOTD. I've just gotta get time to do them and the 22mm RSB.

I really don't particulary either, but it's just a placeholder till I can can come up with a good name for her. I agree the new brushed dash looks loads better than the old R53 version made of plastic.

Yeah all the R56 dash options look really pimp. I love the wood finsh and the brushed alloy one you have. If I ever get a new MINI it'd be a hard choice between the two for me.

I think the brushed alloy looks pretty sweet but I don't think I would be able to let go of my R53.

To each his own

We need pics once it's lowered

The wife saw one at MOTD with the wood and really liked it a lot. Which is a far cry from before when she abhorred it, just going off the sample at the dealer.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a choice in letting go of my R53...

Thanks man! Yeah, it's a fantastic track; you lose a little on the straights to the high HP cars but you're all over their **** in the curves.

You know you were actually on of the last people to see my old car alive, cause I met you at the Guinness Book Run in Va. Beach. The crash was the very next day.

Nice R56. If I had the time to wait for a custom order, mine would have been pepper white with the brushed alu dash too. Good choice. I love brushed alu in general...

Love the R56 man! I still think pw/b is one of the most classic color combos out there. Good call on the dash choice too. Looking forward to seeing it dropped.

I like it, looks like you are having some serious fun.

The only thing that bothers me about the R56 is the lower section of the rear bumper...that large black panel....but as for the rest of the car, I like it. It, or the clubman, are climbing high on my list for a new daily driver

sweet pics at the track
