headroom was just fine. About the same as the MINI, which is ample. and I will go on a limb and say that you'll fit just fine in the 1... it will just require the seat to be in a position that renders the seat behind you useless. My guess is that you're already used to that scenario though, so no worries.

Yes, I am fully used to that and am not concerned about it. I always say my E46 is a 3 seater, not a 4. I actually fit in at least the older Mini. I took one for a test drive once. Same deal with the seating position behind me. Thanks for your response! I'm getting more excited about the 135i every day.

So what are they going to call the M version? That can't recycle M1.

I hope not too... but at this point all sources point to another M1. Of course they aren't even saying they'll build an M version yet... but who knows... maybe a 150 or 135M or something.

What is that.. the M1 right? If that's the M1, then what will the M version of the 1 series be?

Yes, I understand, and have read all that. Something just doesn't add up in my mind, though - the 1XX (1 series) due out soon is not in the same class as the M1.. I'm so confused

BMW built the M1 already, and thus already used up the moniker that would have normally gone to a 1 Series M car.

Right, but someone already asked that question.

The M1 had no "series" designation. It was not the "1-series", nor was there ever a 130, 135, 150, etc etc... it was simply one car, the M1.

Yes, I understand that as well - it's sometimes hard to convey that in writing. Thanks to everyone.
