You guys should all sell your stories to the writers of House. The stuff outside the main storyline is one of the best parts of the show.

Wait... which cheek was it???

Im still stuck on that doorknob story. My coworkers and I are trying to come up with theories on how it happened and we are perplexed to say the least. We are trying to compare her forearm to a waterbottle bottom and man that would mess up her arm pretty good i couldnt imagine something an entire inch larger in diameter penetrating her forearm.

I wish I had taken a picture of it. It's hard to describe other than a doorknob in a forearm.

To bad none of you were in the area and responded to the couple that got creative with a dildo and put it on the end of a sawzall, not realizing that the sawzall would saw right through the dildo and into.....OUCH!!!
Would have been interesting hearing how appearing at that scene would be...

This thread is getting a lot of action

Y'know I was just thinking about the doorknob thing again while I was washing the car and the strangeness has finally kinda set in. I really wanna see the patient again and, more interestingly, the doorknob. I wonder if they put it back on the door

It's likely the brittle skin talked about earlier. It split on contact with the door and the knob may have slid in between the various muscles in the forearm, and/or between the bones and through the membrane that connects the two. I've seen old ppl skin split from tape or a towel rubbing against it, so the contact of a fall causing it isn't surprising.

Ya. What I find amazing is it got stuck. We didn't try to move it obviously by it wasn't loose when we moved her. Cuz she must have been connected to the door for a few minutes too.

Yeah, if she put it between bones (and probably fractured on the way through if she was elderly with osteoporosis), it'd be pretty well in there. Especially with the taper on most doorknobs, as the wider part would really wedge in there. It probably took as much force to get it out as the fall gave going in.

It's a good thing someone else was in the house with her to get it off the door! I would hate to think what would have happened if she pulled it out!

I'm not even gonna start on my stories of what I have seen in the past 10 years, some of the stuff still shocks even me.

Love the stories from others though, good stuff.

0245 Call to the scene of a 65 yo male complaning of difficulty breathing. We put him on oxygen and got him into the ambulance. I was on stretcher duty because I let the probie take vitals. I find out inthe ambulance as we are setting up a combi treatment to help him breathe that he has had FOUR HEART ATTACKS is on a list of medications that is literally a foot long. Remarkably his vitals weren't too bad but then the ALS provider asked if he is a smoker. Now, I don't mind if you smoke, it's cool you wanna kill yourself nice and slow, who am I to judge but after you've had FOUR heart attacks it's down right suicide. The dude had to be 320lbs too. I really wanted to get him some Nicorette en route to the hospital.

Nothing really cool tonight or the last few weeks for that matter. I was hopng for a car accdent on my birthday, is that wrong?

Actually now that I think about it, when I was redressing the stretcher and waiting for a phone to call HQ I overheard a kid, couldn't have been older than 16, telling his mother that he was in the hospital, why, and could she come get him in the morning. It appeared that this young man had gotten into a boxing match and gotten his jaw broken...again...for the third time! Stop sticking up for your friends, numb nuts. Clearly, it seems, this gentleman wasn't a reader. The piece de resistance though was rght before he hung up, music to a parents ears I'm sure, "Fine then, go **** yourself you ****ing slut."

Well played young man, well played.
