Thanks - I wanted a clean sleeper look. I've been pleased with the Breyton GTS-R's.

So, I sold my beloved Charlize at the end of last month to a gentleman from Virginia and his son. They got on a plane and I picked them up at LAX, and they were off on a cross county 3,000 mile road trip back home. Just heard back and they had a great trip.

Goodbye Charlize! ('06 DINAN MINI Cooper S)

And, I was in need/desire of something slightly larger for my growing family (no new additions, the little ones are just getting bigger and taller every day)

So, I searched and searched and finally found this limited edition Porsche Transsyberia rally tribute Cayenne with the advanced off road package, US Production was about 600 units. First mod is likely going to be some larger diameter AT tires like BFG KO's for traction.

Naming her Kate, who plays Selene in the Underworld movies since I think they both look fetching in black. Click the link and perhaps you'll agree.

Yes, I'm aware Kate is not a bimmer or a MINI, but I think one of the great things about the enthusiast community is that BMW/MINI is respected and admired, and other brands are quite welcome.

Nice ride, I think it'll look great on those tires. I've only seen a Transsiberian once over here, but it had the full orange striping.

I miss my Charlize and M | U, so I thought I'd drop in and say hello.

The Orange scheme for the Transsyberia was a bit too flashy for my daily driver, although I'm sure it's perfect livery for a rally.

Spent the Superbowl Sunday morning with some friends light offroading in the San Gabriel mountains.

My buddy brought out his Series II, and used his winch to help recover a rookie.

I can definitely say that you are the first person I've seen take a Cayenne off road like that. Awesome! How does it handle on the trails?

It handles nicely on the trails, it has air adjustable suspension for ride height and clearance and is mid size so easy to fit around large rocks and trees. Visibility is pretty good. Steering is precise.

That's awesome. Do they equip them with anything from the factory to assist on the trails? Lockers or anything of that nature?

Yes, they do. The air suspension system has a "Terrain Level" setting (selected using toggle switches on the center console) that raises the chassis by about an inch, to 9.5 inches, as well as a "Special Terrain Level" that raises ground clearance to nearly 11 inches. In the Special Terrain setting, you can climb some pretty significant inclines: The ramp angle is 24.7 degrees, the front overhang angle 31.8 degrees, and the rear overhang 25.4 degrees.

Source article with more specifics here:

http://www.businessweek.com/lifestyl...222_774047.htm

I searched hard for one equipped with the rare Advanced Off Road Package option as well: includes reinforced rock rails, extra protection for the engine, gasoline tank, and rear axle, and a variable and lockable rear differential.
