They're okay. IMO, it's not the greatest shifter in the world, but certainly a good deal for the money. Personally, I'd rather have an Alta or Craven, if I were replacing the entire shifter, though. Have you thought about the Helix kit? It's in the same price range, and it's much easier to install. It might even provide a shorter throw (I don't remember what the reduction on the B&M is).

Edit: There's also a special on the Helix kits for M|U members going on right now. (10% off maybe?)

1. the b&m also changes the bushings to metal so the feeling of shifting is different compared to the craven or alta. i personally like that but do not have the b&m ssk
2. it is not adjustable in height/throw like the alta and craven.

Ok. So which one would you go for. Alta or craven. I am really confused right now. I want it to go with the JCW shifter. The JCW will come on later so I will be using the original for now.

I had the Alta on my R50. It was pretty sweet. Never tried the Craven, but it's the same concept. I'd say either one would be good.

if it's Alta vs craven I think the craven has a better lock in feature than the Alta, and I have the Alta.

^^Yeah, the Craven locking mechanism does look better. It also looks like it comes ready for use with the stock knob (easy switch to the JCW). I think it's cheaper than the Alta, too. I'd go Craven.

There are reason why an adjustable is not really a desirable feature.
These are cable shifted transmissions?

Now I have a true performance B & M shifter.
