Default AMVIV May 19-22, 2011

First, the basics, in case you haven’t heard. AMVIV8 will be May 19 – 22, 2011 at Palace Station. Courtyard Rooms – $39.00 per night Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, $59.00 per night Friday & Saturday.
Tower Rooms – $59.00 per night Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, $89.00 per night Friday & Saturday.
All room rates are also subject to room tax and the special-for-our-event $4.95 hotel service fee.

Use the Special Web Booking Link or call 1-800-634-3101 and use reservation ID PCIAMV8 and identify yourself as an AMVIV or Sin City MINI Club attendee. For more details, check out our Hotel Link.

Second, our new website is online and operational. New site, same address. Many, many thanks to DB for his hard work and patience, and to Craig of COOPERation for a fantastic new banner.

Third and last, we’re sending a shout out to the artistic folks in our community. It has worked out so well in the past, we are asking again. If you’d like to see your designs on the merchandise for AMVIV8, here’s your chance. The AMVIV 8 Design Contest is now open. This year we’re looking for four designs – 1 each for the front and back of the event shirt, 1 for the front of the event hat, and one for the grille badge. Full details can be found on the website. The deadline for artwork submittals is December 1, 2010 – the address for submittals and for questions if you have them is: SCMCAMVIV@gmail.com.

Clear your calendars and spread the word – AMVIV8 is on the way!

Default The AMVIV8 2011 thread

Vendor Registration is now open. If you're looking for a way to reach several hundred MINIs and Minis at once or if there's a special Vendor you'd like to see at AMVIV8, let us know. Attendees register here. Hotel details here.

We’ve done some more work on the AMVIV8 Schedule, have a look to see what else we’re planning.

As of today, we’ve received 40 Chartered Dam Tour registrations – looking good so far for the Dam tour. I can't wait to see how many buses we're going to need. Come on, sign up. You know you want to.

Moving on…

In just two weeks, we received 66 registrations, with 103 attendees signed up so far. Have your friends signed up yet? Well, have a look here at our guest book.

That’s all we’ve got to report for now. Can’t wait to see you!!!

Default AMVIV8 Update

Wow!! 93 paid registrations in just three short weeks! We’ve reached our minimum for the Chartered Dam Tour. Actually, 52 folks are already signed up. It’s going to be a blast. Remember, if you want to go on this tour, you MUST pre-register. We CANNOT accept reservations when you arrive in Vegas for AMVIV.

Some sad news - if you didn't jump quick, you missed it. The gift card deal Station Casinos was offering has expired. Looks like you'll have to cozy up to those quick friends of yours that managed to capture that deal - maybe they'll share

One more reminder. May 1 the discounted rates at Palace Station expire. In case you missed it, here’s are the room rates for AMVIV8:

Courtyard Rooms - $39.00 per night Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, $59.00 per night Friday & Saturday
Tower Rooms - $59.00 per night Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, $89.00 per night Friday & Saturday

Check the Hotel Page for all the details.

That's all we've got for now. Looking forward to seeing all of you in May!

Default Another AMVIV 8 Update

We've got a revised schedule up, with a more detailed timeline for those of you trying to plan your days. Go check it out!

We've added a Slots tournament for those folks that always arrive early ~ Wednesday night. Our Poker Tournament will be on Friday afternoon. More details will follow later.

We've got 61 people registered for the Dam tour so far. Remember, the tour can hold as many people as would like to sign up; but you MUST pre-register! If you don't register for the tour before online registration closes, you won't be able to go.

About the Dam tour. It's a chartered Dam tour on a set schedule. We will start gathering at 10:30am on Thursday morning. The bus will leave the Palace Station parking lot at 11am. If you are registered on the tour and do not board the bus at the appointed time, you will miss it AND the tour. No exceptions. Please plan accordingly.

The Poker Run will be run a little differently this year. Instead of starting at The Palace at a preset time, and going to a preset list of places to pick up cards - we'll be doing something different. This time, we'll be giving participants a list of questions to answer. These questions will require participants to drive around the Las Vegas Valley to find the answers. Completed lists will be turned in and cards will be handed out on Saturday. Each correct answer will award the participants a card. More complete instructions will be handed out later.

We will also be hosting a scavenger hunt of sorts. This hunt will most likely require the use of a camera and access to a Flickr account. It's also guaranteed to get you out there exploring Las Vegas. Again, more details will be made available later.

Oh and did we mention there will be kegs of Guinness at the Vendor Mixer aka 'Mayhem' on Friday night after the Las Vegas Strip Cruise? Just making sure you're paying attention. Speaking of vendors, if you're hoping to see your favorite MINI Vendors at AMVIV, but don't see them on our list yet, give them a holler.

Don't forget... to make your hotel reservations at Palace Station and get your discount, use this link.

To buy swag from previous AMVIV events, use this link.

To register for AMVIV, use this link.

And, to get your vendors signed up, tell them to use this link.

That's all for now. See you in May!

Default AMVIV News

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. We’ve got some more news for you. Without further ado, here it comes…

The Club is trying something new this year. We’re working on an iPhone app that will help keep attendees informed of what is happening during AMVIV (No, sorry, no Droid app - maybe next year). You’ll be able to look at the events on the go, keep track of which events you plan to attend, and see what other's are up to at AMVIV. The app will be set to feed information from Facebook and from Twitter as well as our website, so if you do tweet about AMVIV be sure to include the has tag #amviv in your tweets. We’re finalizing the first version of the app, and will let everyone know when it’s available.

Want to hear some more about AMVIV? This week, we were interviewed by the guys with White Roof Radio – please check out Woofcast #372 to hear some of what we’ve got brewing: www.whiteroofradio.com/woofcast-372

Remember that special Station Casinos had recently – the infamous $100 gift certificate for $50? Well, I want to tell you about We Luv Locals. It’s a website Station Casinos put together, which gives those folks that sign up access to some of the best deals in Vegas. Just go to that website: http://www.weluvlocals.com and sign up to get exclusive offers directly to your Inbox, offers that will help you save some cash during your pending visit to Sin City. Here’s a link to the We Luv Locals FAQ if you have questions. They cycle a new deal at least weekly, maybe that gift card deal will come back around again.

Hope everyone is getting their travel plans together. Time is wasting away, and May is coming soon. Remember, online registration for AMVIV8 is set to g o up to $30 on April. Head on over to http://www.amviv.com/sign-up and get registered!

Default AMVIV8 Reminders

Hello Everyone,
Some AMVIV reminders for you today:

First off, today is the last day that you can take advantage of the AMVIV early bird registration fees for $25. Tomorrow the rate goes up to $30. The difference will cost you the price of a gallon or so of gas, or maybe a beer (depending on how you look at it). If you’d rather spend that $5 somewhere else, get on over to http://www.amviv.com/sign-up and get registered.

Here’s an update for you – we’ve got 75 people registered so far to go on the Chartered Tour of Hoover Dam! The Tour will include a stop at the new Bypass Bridge, so you can get a look at this modern marvel. The Tour also includes the 'Hoover Dam Discovery Tour'. This is a self paced tour which features talks presented by the guide staff at a number of locations both within the center and at the top of the dam. Just remember, in order to get in on the Tour, you MUST pre-register and pay. You cannot purchase tickets at AMVIV. If you haven’t registered yet, here’s a direct link to the Paypal page: http://www.amviv.com/paypal-gateway/

Here’s an important reminder for attendees that want to stay at Palace Station during AMVIV. The group rate at Palace ends on May 1, 2011. The latest word from Palace is that they probably WON'T be extending it past our contracted end date. If you want to stay at Palace where all the action will be, go to http://www.amviv.com/hotel/ to get all the details and book your room.

We just received word of a Bingo tournament that will be going on at Palace Station on Sunday May 22 – Here’s a link with more details. It is limited to the first 1000 players, so if this sounds interesting, you’d better sign up quick! http://www.stationcasinosbingo.com/palace/

To buy swag from previous AMVIV events, use this link.

To register for AMVIV, use this link.

And, don’t forget to tell your favorite MINI vendors you want to see them this year, tell them to register at http://www.amviv.com/vendor-sign-up.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for more updates about the Slots and Poker tournaments. See you in May!
