Default Strassentech FRP Lip Spoiler Group Buy

Since quite a few people inquired about the lip spoiler on my car, I've arranged a group buy of them through Waylen of Way Motor Works. They are made in Germany by Strassentech. The version being offered is the Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP). I can attest to its high quality and easy (and strong) mounting. Sadly, I've found out they are meant to fit only the stock MCS bumper.

The company importing them has raised their price now, but we have 10 of them available at the original price of $350 plus shipping (depends on location, but around $20). The order won't be placed until we get orders for all 10.

For additional info you can call Waylen directly at 317-201-8670.

**Disclaimer** I'm not making any money from this. Just doing it as a favor to others who have expressed interest to me.

Here's a pic of it on my MINI courtesy of Griff:

Haha.. You beat me to it!! I was gonna ask "do they have a Cooper version?" But I'm 99% set on the Garbino... (yummy)...

Good pic, too.

Sadly, I've found out that they are only meant to fit the MCS. Now could they be adapted to work on a Cooper? Perhaps, but I'd say the Garbino lip would be a better option.

Top post updated.

That's what I kind of figured. Just wanted to make sure because I didn't see anything stated about it.

Here's what I can tell you about the fit/mounting:

1) The length of the splitter has an area the curves under the bottom of the stock bumper skirt and has five holes that match up with the existing screws holes that mount the stock bumper. The kit comes with five new screws that are slightly longer.

2) The splitter comes with two larger bolts, washers & nuts that require drilling two small holes in the bottom of the stock bumper skirt. These two bolts provide the majority of the mounting strength for the spoiler.

3) There is a length of double stick tape applied on the inside lip of the splitter where it pulls up flush with the base of the stock bumper skirt. When you are ready to mount the splitter, you just pull off the plastic tape backing and press it into place while you place all the hardware.

4) The easiest way to install the splitter is with the bumper cover removed. From what I can tell, installing it with the bumper cover still on would also not be a problem though.

The fit and finish look very OEM (IMO). All in all, it's a 15-20 minute install max.
