Are you on Mac or PC?
Right, it's not activated. I jailbroke it originally. Now my future step-father in-law has it and has been trying to figure out how to get it to work on T-Mobile. He works quite a bit out of the country, so that's why we are trying to get it to work for him.

I followed the instructions on http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1880 on a PC.

Cool, so probably all you need to do is activate it.

Try downloading ZiPhone and using just the activate feature. See how that works.

If that doesn't work, you may need to restore it and re-do your QuickPwn.

I THINK

Hardware is coming is June. If you can wait...do. I believe apple will release the new phone per their contract with AT&T. I new phone every year for 5 years. There is a strategic reason why their has to be new hardware this year. They are looking at locking out the gen1 iphone users from the new 3.0 software. The gen1 owners 2 year contract is up. Apple looses revenue if those customers go month to month after June.

I am running the new 3.0beta on my 3G phone. Cut & Paste, MMS, voice memos, much faster "shutter" in camera app, etc. Apple has not put in some key features in the beta. Invites from iCal app, video.

SIDENOTE: Apple will also release a 10.1" touch screen tablet device. It will run the iphone OS and load apps from the app store, along with movie rentals, etc. It will run on wireless N, and possibly AT&T or MAYBE even Verizon. If the device runs on a wireless carrier service it will only be data, no calling. Apple has a contract with AT&T for phones. Skype is always available though.

very very very likely when they release the new iPhone in July...

check this out and we had a thread here that talked about it. Not sure if it will be a mobile OS like iPhone / iPod touch or if it will be a complete version of OS X, but here are mockups of both:

anyone else do this? I cant decide if I want to go ahead and do this now or if I want to wait another month and just get the update....is it worth paying a small amount now for?? or have any bad effects that you have noticed so far?

I heard the that the new 3.0 won't be out till Aug. Which contradicts my "new hardware in June/July" prediction.

depends. If there is an app that tells me if my bottom is clean after doing my "business" I might.

I will say no...but as the days approach...I will give into the hype and get in line.
