Default Urgent... Car won't start even with a new battery

Okay. I have been having this intermittent issue for a couple of weeks, where it took me several tries to crank the engine.

Finally, this morning, it gave out on me.

Symptoms are like this:

When I try to crank the engine= NOTHING. No clicking from solenoid, no nothing.

All the lights and stuffs turns on perfectly. Radio, wiper, windows, etc...

Things I have checked/done:

1) Battery replacement
2) Sand battery cable to clean the corrosion
3) Cleaning the Passenger side ground wire (near the engine mount)
4) Checked all the fuses, interior / under the hood
5) Push-Pop start worked
6) Clutch switch : Checked. (Its the one thats hooked on to the clutch, kind of long and a few wires going into it?)

Still nothing. Gahhhh it is the only car I have and with it being dead, I can't commute to school or anything without bothering others...

Please anyone, tell me what to do to get this thing MOVING!!!

It might be your ignition switch... If something goes wrong with the switch it usually only affects the "engine on" spot, meaning all of the other accessories will work. Normally they show signs of failing when the car takes a couple of attempts to crank at times, but for no reason it just stops turning over. Then they go out completely and the car won't crank at all.

Thanks all...!

Ah dang it.. doesn't replacing the ignition requires some fiddling with immobilizer?
How hard is it to replace the ignition switch?

Dude... Ide say its the immobilizer unit... I believe its called the EVM module and its located just to the left of the clutch pedal a little higher up on the firewall.

Its either that or the starter solenoid not engaging. But normally the starter solenoid failure you can hear the EVM click.... if the EVM doesn't click like you sort of mentioned (double check this) than it probably has failed.

The dealer will have to replace this and match your keys to it again... that's the cost of a reliable car that starts every time! Hope this helps!

Ooops.

Well it ended up being my starter switch under the steering column

I fiddled with the wires and it starts up strong
