My girlfriend is quite crafty and good at sewing, she's made bags and clothes etc. I was a bit skeptic about getting the double stitching straight, but she absolutely nailed it! I'm trying to find some real Alcantara (also to cover some other interior parts), but I have to admit that I'm actually liking the plaid boots...

I deleted the phone-buttons (those are never gonna work in my early R50) and painted everything black of course...

Curious to see how the paint holds up on the steering wheel. Was considering doing this rather than buying the black bits for $100.

You can't buy black pieces for the R50/R53, so my choices were rather limited... I could've gotten them in carbon, but I don't want too much of that...

Got my JCW handbrake grip in carbon/alcantara in the mail today:

Not really convinced by how it's just hold in place by glue, but we'll see how that goes. Oh, in case you can't get the stock grip of (like me), here's the trick:
