NC engine?

http://greensboro.craigslist.org/pts/3828763220.html

More miles then you'd like I'm sure and probably not worth the effort for the small amount of HP gain. I'm trying! We need a photo shoot soon. Cars and Coffee next Saturday?

And, this is also up for sale! The previous owner wants to buy it back, but he's not sure how quickly he'll be able to come up with the money. It currently has 188,225 miles and won't see many more (I've only put 2k on it since I got it in November). I'm looking for $6,250 as it sits with the Porsche wheels, a brand new Alpine double din Nav/bluetooth head unit, and will include the roll bar and some extra parts I have with the sale as well. The overall condition is very very good, but not perfect. The paint and body work looks amazing in person. It will eventually need a motor or some sort of engine work due to oil consumption when doing long highway drives (thank you 4k rpm hwy revs ), but given the body work, paint, new brakes, new timing belt and water pump, wheels/tires/adapters, intake, exhaust, etc. I feel it's a fair price. Pass it along if you know anyone looking for a nicely setup car that is a lot of fun to drive and turns heads like you wouldn't believe. Truly the most attention and positive remarks I've EVER gotten on a car I built.

Oh man that was pretty fast. You did some beautiful work on it while it lasted. Good luck selling it. How long did you have it?

So, I never really got very aggressive about trying to sell the Miata. I still don't drive it much, but it's fun when I do use it. With that said, I am actually making an effort now to sell it. I listed it for a couple of weeks in the setup you've seen on these pages, but I knew I would have a very specific audience. I didn't try listing it anywhere except locally, so that probably didn't help. Either way, I decided to make a few changes to make it a bit more of the typical Miata, and also so I don't have to see my creation driving around town.

Last week I raised it up some to get the handling back in check and make it so it's not too low for test drives. This week I installed a brand new set of 15x8 et20 TR Motorsport wheels and Dunlop 205/50-15 tires. The next step will be painting the roll bar matte black and installing it again, and removing the Alpine Nav head unit so that I can just save it for a future project. The goal is to list it for just under $6k, and hopefully I can offset the cost of the new wheels and tires with the sale of the D90's. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures because we all know pictures are necessary for thread updates from the dead.

It's worth noting that I've done a crazy amount of work to this car, and whoever buys it should be able to really enjoy it. I was just thinking about all of the maintenance and modifications I've done since I picked it up and was pretty shocked by the list.

Maintenance:
Timing belt
Water pump
Drive belt
Shifter bushings
Brake pads & rotors front and rear
Valve cover gasket
Timing cover seal
Fuel system treatment
Intake carbon cleaning
Dunlop Direzza 205/50-15 tires
Oil changes (2 in 2,500 miles)
Coolant flush
Brake flush
Buffed and clear bra'd headlights

Modifications:
Custom cold side K&N short ram intake
Custom Magnaflow exhaust
Hawk performance brake pads
TR Motorsport 15x8" wheels (34lbs with tires mounted)
Engine bay wire tuck & component removal/reroute
Custom coolant overflow at firewall
Power steering delete
Air Conditioning delete
Custom painted wrinkle black valve cover
New front fenders and replacement trunk lid
Shaved emblems and windshield washers
Dent and rust removal on entire body of car
Porsche Riviera Blue paint job
Alpine speakers

Typing that up brings me back to wanting to keep it! Ha! Just gotta think about the next step and move on from this project.

If I wasn't buying a house right now, I would seriously consider making you an offer on it. Sadly too many expenses queued up before buying expensive new toys...

Not yet, but soon. Still working on a couple of finishing touches before I list it for sale. I'll let you know when I do!
