Even Krista is on board with this one. She liked the NC too when we test drove it but now she's like "well, we've GOT to get one of these."

I've definitely created a monster.

Not that I'd own a Miata as a daily, but if I had a pick, I'd take the NC over the ND any single day of the week. The NC retained the classic "british" sportscar styling that the Miata always had.

The ND looks like a desperate move on Miata's part to make the Miata more "aggressive" and less "girly"....trying to basically make their own FRS for the younger crowd. I'd rather take a Z4 over the ND if I wanted a sharp-lined 2-door convertible.

I'm not saying I don't like the look of the ND....I think it looks great, but it lost the thing I liked most about Miatas.

They are barely moving off the lot as it is. Mazda must be commended for sticking with the Miata even while sales had fallen so low.

I kinda agree and disagree - I think after the 1st gen Miata they lost the lines that made me love them. I don't think bringing those back would be marketable either. I also don't think an frs competitor is a bad thing because I think that car is a direction I was hoping more dealers would follow anyway.

I like it, but I'd have to see it in person and drive one before I consider trading up from my NB.

I commend Mazda for their design approach of late, from the SkyActiv M6, M3, CX5, now the ND. I'm pretty sure they've retained or even enhanced the roadster's manners that have won many over. I recently took delivery of a '14 3hatch, & can only sing praises. Great gas mileage & handling. It's no R53, but a worthy & comfy appliance.
Mazda is definitely on the right track now.

I wasn't sure at first but it's growing on me. I can't believe how similar the side profile is to that of the mk1.
