Default Coilover questions

Well I'm new here but I have been reading around the forum for awhile now. However I have some questions that I know probably are some basic questions but kinda wanna get it right before I purchase my coils. I'm on a budget and I've been looking at different sets and I know a popular set are the vmaxx. A buddy of mine just installed fk street lines on his VW gti and the ride and pretty nice and it can go decently low so I found a set of fk street lines for the r53 and wanted to know if anyone else had tried these? Also if I were to buy a set I've been reading that adjustable control arms and basically necessary, is that true? And anything else I need to know would be very helpful

i can't say how good fk's are.
adjustable control arms are not a necessity for driving but if you want a decent alignment you need them.
