Default Track classes

So....I'm planning on going to the mid-ohio driving school this spring/summer. It's pretty highly regarded. Just wondering, what is your opinion on using your car versus the Acura RSX they provide. I'm tempted to just use my car.

Here is a write up about the basics of what goes on

My friend has a regular rsx and I've driven it.........it's no MINI for sure.

I'd say use your own car because your already use to it and that is the car you want to learn to drive better, right?

I'm sure the RSX is decent, but I think you would get more from it if you learned in your own car.

Are you going to have the new one by then? If so, will it be broken-in?

If I take a class like that, I would take it in their cars. I may be more inclined to learn a few things without worry of damage. Then use the techniques to get to know my car.

That will probably be a big deciding factor. Chances are i will have it and will have broken it in by the time the classes are held (june).

I do agree that maybe the lack of emotional connection to the rsx may allow me to push it as hard as you need to. But on the other hand it might be nice to learn how my car handles etc.

Does this count as a racing event?

Yep, it would count, so long as all other requirements (URL, logo, etc) were met.

I'm guessing that's all secret decoder ring stuff, right?

nah, just seeing if it met the requirements of being determined as a driving event since its a class not a time trial

The secret decoder ring stuff is the requirement of driving events, not the driving events themselves.

the RSX understeers like crazy if the suspension is left stock. sooooo it'll be good to use it for practice... thatway, if you find yourself in that situation with your car, you'll know what to do or what not to do.

The basic skills they will teach you can be applied to any car regardless of the drivetrain layout or the weight distribution. Have fun, and just so you know, the RSX has a crappy second gear... either the synchro doesn't do it's job or you'll fall out of your power band.

have fun and let us know how that goes
