I'm rooting for Honda as the "best of the rest" but let's be real... Massa > F1

Think so???? Remember the champ is whoever "serviced" old Bernie the best in the off-season.

...All kidding aside, I think that Hamilton will have a good first have of the season until he and his new teammate (can't remember his name as I've been drinking) will clash and have dramaz that'll screw up McLaren this year. I do predict a Ferrari beat down this year I think it'll be a good battle between Massa/Kimi. I guess we'll have to see come sunday....errr saturday....

About damn time.

Poor Alonso will (hopefully) be relegated to the middle or upper-middle of the pack. I wonder what or who he'll blame then?

I think Hamilton will do pretty well but I'd really like to see Massa take it all this year. And it would be even better if he just completely dominates the entire season (like Schumacher back in '04). I guess we will see soon enough...

I dunno Paul, Hamilton and Kovelinenantizpterwitz look pretty chummy. Although, Hamilton is definitely a diva and Kovi is definitely fast so we'll see how much Hamilton cries about it.

I'd really like to see a good battle for the championship between Ferrari, McLaren, Renault and BMW... Of course Massa dominating would be sweet but I doubt Kimi or the McLaren boys will let that happen. Should be an interesting season, I'm pumped for it.

Hence the foreseen McLaren dramaz

I actually just saw an interview on Speed where Hamilton said that he and Kovi get along really well and there won't be a repeat of last year. I'm with you though... I'm not sure I believe it.

Did Honda pass their safety tests yet? Practice season sure makes it look like McLaren and Ferrari remain at the top.

One of the K1 tracks is having a F1 party Sunday, I think Anaheim. I'll have to ask Iceman.

It's been too long!

Viva Ferrari!

When did Alonso get a ride? I thought he was on the bench this year.

Quote:
The 2008 F1 season finally burst into life when practice got underway in Melbourne on Friday morning. By the end of the session the ambient temperature had already risen to 95, and was set to rise in the afternoon.

To no one’s great surprise it was McLaren and Ferrari on top at the end of the 90 minute session, with World Champion Kimi Raikkonen making his point by removing Lewis Hamilton form top spot in the closing minutes. Their teammates Felipe Massa and Heikki Kovalainen were next up, while Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso led the chase.

Nelson Piquet Jr’s first day as a race driver didn’t get off to a good start when he spun and stalled on the racing line, creating a brief red flag interruption. Teammate Alonso also had more than one spectacular trip across the grass.

David Coulthard came into the pits with smoke pouring from the back of his Red Bull, and reported a loss of oil pressure. If he requires a new Renault engine he will escape a 10-place grid penalty, as drivers are allowed to make their first change for free this year.

Nick Heidfeld was the first man out at the start of the session, but later his BMW Sauber stopped at trackside after apparently coasting out of a corner.

The Super Aguris took to the track for the first time in several weeks, but did very few laps as lack of spares has restricted their mileage. Williams drivers Kazuki Nakajima and Nico Rosberg also did hardly any running, and were at the bottom of the times.

Track newcomer and F1 rookie Sebastien Bourdais ran more laps than anyone else, logging 32 in total and finishing the session in 14th, five places behind his STR teammate Sebastian Vettel.

Vettel posted a solid P9 with the year-old Toro Rosso STR2B » More Photos

Hellz yeah, Hammy on the poll, and the boys of BMW represented on the front row. Seems like its gonna be a good year, by the looks of the field so far.

Go Lewis (and BMW)
