I have a bit of mixed feelings about replicas.
On the one hand I find it nothing but on the other hand, I can well understand why people buy them. For example if you look at as a set of "dare", which may cost 1000euro, 3000 compared to rotiform. That means that you can buy 3 sets of replicas for the same money as the original! It's only a shame that people put original centercaps on a replica wheel

Mediocre? Haha what the hell are you talking about?

It's on everything because it's a well executed 3 piece mesh design that people find visually attractive. Regardless of its popularity, there's hardly anything "mediocre" about the design. It's a classic mesh with its roots tied deeply to vintage race cars and sports cars. It's a far more complicated mesh design than the average mesh design you see.

And I hate to break it to you, but this so called "fad" isn't going anywhere. You might be new to the euro scene, but the BBS RS has been a popular choice on modified euro cars since the wheels were invented. They've been around for decades and I highly doubt they're going anywhere any time soon.

How long does a classic wheel design have to be popular before it is no longer a fad? Dudes in pink polo's and white shorts thought RSs were dope while you were probably playing with your tonka trucks!

LoL You guys sure do get bent out of shape quickly.

The trend has already shifted away from them, has it not? EX: concave wheels, anything from rotiform (not a bad thing), or a set of wheels thrown away by a Corvette owner 20 years ago. Sure they will stick around, but not near the annoying numbers that you see today (in the US). Well really not so much "today" as the number had dropped pretty drastically just in the last couple of months from what i have seen at local (Houston and Dallas) shows.

IMO Non-Mediocre design (Still with in the BBS family, for you "die-hards")

I honestly find it quite amusing you guys got so pissed about that. lol Sure, it may have been something special years ago, but after being a how many dozens of production cars.....ehh ? Some of you see it that as a compliment to the series, but for me...knocks the wheel to the level of mediocrity.

LOL Bell-bottom pants have had a couple of cycles of "fads" too, but still doesnt make them "amazing". Just b/c this isnt the first "fad" these wheels have had, doesnt reallly mean anything...

Some designs are timeless. I guess that's lost on you.

I think bbs wheels are a hit or miss for some people. everynow and then I see a car that I die for with mesh wheels, but its not a style I dig very often at all. Im not a fan of bbs rs but everyonce in a while I see someone pull them off that I really like. Ovbiously I am on the rare end of that table as they are very attractive to the majority of tuners.

for instance I like them in black, and black is a "played out style" right now lol

Ill agree with that ^^

And that Miata looks pretty good honestly. I loooooove mesh wheels, just really tired of seeing BBS RS on every "cool" car, and posted 100's in the same thread as if they are something new...

Torq-Thrust's are a "timeless design" too, but i havent seen them on a MINI yet (YET!!). lol
