Really a let down all around. Now the question is will they even finish the track? With no F1 race the return on investment time frame just got extended by a whole lot .

He's baaack!

Kimi signs with Lotus Renault (Lotus Racing in 2012) for two years.

And Bernie is still bashing Austin, so looks like a no-go there.

Bernie was asked about the contract and his reply was that " they ( austin ) are missing two things a pen and money "

Bernie keeps sharing the love, this time about Europe:

"I think in the next few years Europe will be left with only five races," Ecclestone told Spain's Marca. "I think Europe is finished. It will be a good place for tourism but little else. Europe is a thing of the past."

He added: "Russia for sure, we have a contract there. Maybe South Africa, Mexico."

He should have added, "wherever I can get my 25 million pound/euro/dollar guaranteed fee."

The manufacturers, teams and drivers should all just pull out and form their own series, leaving Bernie high and dry. Seems like it would be REALLY easy to coordinate and pull off. Plus, going to a track and saying "We'll split the ticket prices with you, no fee" would probably get the venues interested.

They don't really care about the paid attendance fees. It's all about the TV revenue & Bernie will do what he always does when threatened - Throw money at the teams/manufacturers to keep them in line & in his pocket. We're likely stuck with him until the devil claims him for his own.
