Ivan: Yes, the demolition of the Courage was simply amazing--I sure hope that becomes a video clip someday (even though the replay of the Mercedes CLK GTR launch tops the LM video clip list--I'd never seen the aerial photos of the wreck site before.)
I don't think the Kristensen (#8) problems are too serious, especially if there are no more problems over night--they can make up 5 to 10 laps in 20 hours if need be. Still, the hare (Frenchies) may win the race by shear attrition.

At the moment I'm listening to those annoying Waltrip brothers as the Frenchies stop for an early evening dinner with wine...

Sticking with my Audi pick...

Unhappy All of you watching the LeMans suck...

Just kidding, but I am envious!

Hard to believe that even in the lull of daytime weekend broadcasting via Comcast the following sports were on amongst the usual mish-mash of movies, MTV trash, etc.:

- Championship darts
- Drag racing
- Basketball
- Motocross
- Baseball

Heck, even "Trick my Truck" was on CMT... But noooooooo frickin' LeMans. Nada. Zilch. Zip. Not even a tickler on ESPNSpeed

Thanks for the updates, I'll have to keep up via here & SpeedTV I guess. *** SIGH ***

I can't believe Speed is having technical difficulties! Audi can get a broken car back on track in 5 laps and we have to listen to AM radio quality broadcast of the race? Oy Vey! If I could get a live feed on the internet, I'd pay for it! (I get live feed of MotoGP and Tour de France, so why not Lemans?)
Anyway, despite the latest problem with the Capello/Kristensen R10, I'm still holding to my pick -- 8 wins for Tom!!

cheers,

Yeh, and the Porsche GT3 RSR didn't even win GT2 category because the gear lever came off with 50 minutes to run... Oh, well. Remember, a Porsche is just a MINI reversed!

cheers,

Yes, it was a Russian entry! BUT what about the Japanese Lamborghini? They had some closeups of it in the pits and the entire body was carbon fiber!! GEEZUZ KRYST. It was sponsored by the Japanese Lamborghini Owner's Club--talk about a shite load of money. (photos here:http://www.motorsport.com/photos/sel...Friday&Y=2006#) I think it was still running after 24 hours though, so not a bad effort.

later,
