What size tires wheels/tires are you running? I only removed mine because I'm running 205/40/17 which is smaller than the standard size. If you're running stock size, you really shouldn't have to take any of the locking seats out with the cylinder all the way down. Unless you're planning to do some serious tucking, at which point you really shouldn't be too concerned about how good/bad the ride is.
![]() I really would try and bottom out the cylinder first before messing with the preload though. |

Alright sounds like a plan. Next time I get a chance ill take that thing off and try and screw that cylinder as far as possible, and see if I can get a little lower. I dont need much, my fender is just about the height of the top of the tire, I just want to tuck a tad bit.

I'm new to the world of Minis, coming from Hondas and Acuras. Megan has come along way... Honestly, I'm a little surprised that they've survived this long. Saying that, after reading this thread I thought their coilovers were the best bang for the buck and because they come with camber plates.
So I picked up a set of Megan coilovers and upper and lower control arms. After the install, there was a clunk coming from the rear right away. I thought maybe it was a lose bolt in the rear coilovers or maybe the pre-load was set wrong. I had a local alignment guy take a look at the coilovers... I don't know why, but after dismantling the coilover, he decided to tighten the top bolt with an impact gun. The thread snapped and my Mini was held hostage.. Luckily, Megan is a local company and to make a long story short - I got a replacement. We put everything back but the clunk is still there... We've concluded the sound is coming from the arms. It makes the sound even without the wheel. I contacted Megan and they suggested it was lose bolts, but I've already had (2) mechanical look at the system, and they agree everything is tight. Megan has suggested the 3-9 o'clock test but I have NO idea what that is... Can anyone provide any suggestions? Am I out of luck for putting my trust into Megan? |

Yup! Any suggestions? I don't see how greasing anything would help either... That and anything I touch will technically require a new alignment, no?

Yeah, not a good idea to put an impact gun to a hollow threaded shaft.

you know, they do come with a 1 year warranty, I hope you took them back, instead of derping out and using an impact wrench on them then saying, they are trash. I find that more and more people who do suspension then have problems with it, realllyyyy should just have somebody else do it for em.
and your spring is not on it's perch....or it's not your suspension

I'm planning on buying a set of these soon. Am I reading it right that your supposed to only use one bolt on each side on the camber plate or is that only if you don't want to use a ball head allen key to adjust it? Or do you just move the engine side bolts into those middle holes?

It depends on how much camber you want to run.
