I think drivers should drive their car if they're gonna talk....but that's just me.

agreed in some cases, but imo some people build cars some drive. smart builders get good drivers (in race series).

In that case....it should be the driver talking big about racing, and the builder talking big about a dyno shootout.

Yes, we are trying to make the MINI competitive against cars with horsepower on the bigger tracks where we normally get abused.

Well, in my experience, there are HP cars, and there are momentum cars. Those pesky Spec Miatas have been giving all kinds of big horsepower cars fits on the track because they are so light they never have to slow down. They can carry a lot of speed into and through the corners and will drive right by a big block Mustang at the entrance. Sure they can be passed on the straight, but unless the HP guy is a really good driver, they'll be all over him again in the twisties. The Mini falls right into this category.

IMHO, you would do better trying to make your Mini competitive with a really well driven Spec Miata, than worry about some WRX with 325 HP. Let him go, you can't beat everyone. Pick your battles. IMHO.

You can do what you want, of course. I'll be glad to run against your superkar on any track you like.

I'd really like to see the MINI become extremely competitive in Time Attack
