i used the paper clip route... mine works fine. occasionally the vibration of the car would cause the top light to go out, but it's just a matter of pushing the paper clip back in.

you're saying the ENTIRE brake light doesn't work? cuz i've only had the top light go out (like stock lighting)

The brake light mod suhuhucks when you're following someone in the canyons at night. It's so bright, it constricts your pupils and leaves trails in your vision.

I remember riding behind someone in the canyons who had that top light on all the time and every time I glanced away it made me think they had their brakes on...very un nerving and distracting. We have the mod on the cooper and it just looks like the bottom light only double and only when you step on the brakes.

Either way... that top fog lamp is just far too bright for everyday driving. When I'm driving hard in the canyons at night, there's nothing more unnerving than my pupils constricting into pinholes everytime the person I'm following steps on the brakes. Not safe at all, IMO.

I guess I can see your point but they arent as bright as most newer cars even with both bulbs lit up. Those LED lights are rediculously bright. I just couldnt handle that top light on all the time, it overpowers the running light on the bottom and its hard to tell when they are actually braking.

For city traffic driving I think the tail light mod is great the dual illuminated bulbs make the car that much more visible when you are braking.

i agree... even when we were on the freeway following astra in san diego... i kept thinking he was braking haha.

and i definitely agree about the city driving + tail light mod.

as for the touge, i don't think i've ever followed anyone with the tail light mod so i can't really say...

Default its all g00d....no more goofy light mods fer me!!

sorry so late! i dont get "instant notification" fer sum reason on this forum so i havent seen this thread till today...
but so that garbage of a mod almost cost me 700.oo $ the whole body control unit was inop, they blamed it on the jump wire mod of course and wouldnt fix it under warranty.
i went back to tha dealer where i bought tha MINI from & they took care of it!!
it pays to know people in high places!!!!!!!!

i find it hard to believe it wuz tha light mod but then again if the module detected a power surge of sum sort then it could happen.
