Anyone going to the LB GP this year? Hearing the Audi in person is a real treat. Or rather, NOT hearing the Audi :p .....so quiet...
I here ya bro, I watched part of the race yesterday too.... BUT COME NEXT WEEK, IT'S ON!!!!! Forget LB GP, go to the ALMS Race at Laguna Seca in October, it WAY better. I've made the pilgramage there for the past 4 years.

Peugeot is still dominating at Sebring:

A lap time of 1 minute, 43.710 seconds, 0.725 second faster than Marco Andretti in Andretti Green Racing's Acura ARX-01b

Should be interesting.

I hope Audi can get over themselves and remain in the series. Surely the somewhat goofy IMSA ALMS revisions won't get the best of Audi's competitive nature...

Alternately, I wouldn't mind seeing another player step up and run for a season or two just to mix things up. I think if Audi leaves it will become a Porsche dominated series for a bit until Acura really gets its stride.

PORSCHE FTMFW!

Slapped down the Audis and Ferraris, so I'm happy. Audi's gotta be furious, though. I would not be surprised if they dropped ALMS after this year... maybe even mid-season if they don't put in some rule changes.

Yeah there needs to be changes made. I mean, is it on Audi for not being fast enough in P1, or Porsche who are too fast for P2? I hope Audi doesn't leave the series, I love hearing the eerie diesel whizz by me at Laguna Seca.

When the p2 cars take first and second something has to give . Fernandez being DSQ's do to a leaky air box was a bummer as well. There was no drama as the bumper car finish like last year but thanks to Tivo I was able to watch the whole thing about a hr at a time Its great tred mill material LOL

Yeah... the problem is that the rulebooks from the ACO, and to some extent IMSA, are written based on the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Circuit de la Sarthe has massive straightaways, so P1 beats down P2 decisively there. That's just not the case here in the US, where our courses tend to favor a lighter, nimbler car over a heavier, powerful beast. The problem is that they would probably have to deviate really far from the ACO rules to put P1 back in the front of the pack.

Unless they just mege P1 with P2.....but again, that would be the begining of the end for Audi in ALMS. I'm sure that they would soilder on in the 24 hour race though....they got another Diesel to compete with this year....

Audi is in:

AutoWeek - Audi gives a last second yes

Whew.... That makes things more better me thinks. More competition is better racing (at least in most cases).

That's great news! I really hope Audi gets their wish and the powers that be slow down the LMP2 cars.

No! Speed up the P1 cars. Leave the P2 cars alone.
