Yeah that works too, but, do the LMP1 cars run any sort of restrictor?

Not sure. I wonder what ballast weight they're carrying. Hmm.

Ha ha! That would be awesome! Doubtful, but cool.

Not sure how the extra speed would really unfold on many of the tracks in the ALMS series (might prove pretty risky or speedius unobtainious simply due to lack of room or proper conditions to run that hot).

Hahah yeah, it probably won't go that route. That accident there was due to crap aerodynamics though, not too much speed, but I'm sure you probly already knew that.

Forgot about this until I got back into Facebook tonight.... There's a halfway decent following of ALMS nerds there in a group called:

American Le Mans Series (ALMS)

A few good discussions and threads.

I read they benefited from a 3% air restrictor increase for the 2008 season on standard petroleum powered cars - but I can't recall/find what the original rates were across the different motor configs.

Anyway - yeah, restrictors are still in place...

They had a race this past Saturday in St. Pete and apparently no one noticed...

Aaarghh, looks like the Flying Lizard Porsche lost to one of the Ferraris in GT2. Oh well, at least Corvette slapped down Aston Martin in GT1.

Ha ha! True.... I like the Astons, but realistically they don't hold much of chance against the 'Vettes for now.

I watched the last 15 minutes or so on ABC once I realized they were running the race (damn - I have to find a way afford the Speed Channel soon to catch more races). Pretty good rumbling around the track even for that short duration.

A lot of carnage but it was cool to see the Audi team take the checker. Some good driving.
