ya.. there are a lot of things you can use. You just got to pick one that u might like. or what best fits the finished product.

In my case, it will be repair work. fun!

yay come visit me!!
i'm living in taunton mass right now... but my studio is in providence, ri.

i'm all ova bitch!

andrew you have two options, you can make one lip out of foam and then fiberglass it or you can make one plug for a mold, make the mold and then make multiples... obviously the latter is more complex and if you opt for the first one you can make a mold of it after the fact. the plug for the mold doesn't have to be fiberglass it can be anything. one of the advantages of making a mold is that once you have the mold there isn't a lot of clean up. whereas if you lay fiberglass up over foam you are going to be doing lots of it... and you can make multiples!

as many of you know... ive already attempted the fabrication of said sunroof.

i used fiberglass resin... and it ended up about 1/8" thick all the way around.

this was an attempt at creating just the large peice of glass. when the product was finished... without hardware, it weighed only a fraction less than the actual glass. at this point i promptly threw it in the garbage... total cost: $25.00

the prototype is still being manufactured... patience please.

balsa, shmalsa.
