Default Fiberglass Repair 101 Class start this holiday

If any one is bored and wants to get their learn on. I'll be fixing my car the chrismass in my drive way. You can get hands on experance on how to lay fiberglass, how to mold it, how to repair masive cracks, how to prep for paint and finaly how to spray rattle can paint the right way.

Yup! thats right.. I curbed the shit out of my passanger side this morning when i left the doctors. all the way down the side skirt to the rear fender. broke all the mold lines where the kit met the body. The side skirt will be easy to fix.. the rear fender will be a bitch. May take 3-4 days (depending on weather) to fix it all. Im such a bone head. but it will keep be bissy and i wont be sitting on my ass for 7 days I have off for xmass.

For the rear fender, the crack near the tail light is the body line. I'll have to dig that all the out to tehe metle, and level the flare really low and then re lay new fiberglass. to make it nice and storng again. ( i hit it pretty hard today)

same with the side skirts, where the skirt is smoothed in the the body. I'll have to chizel most of the old fiberglass back an re lay new.

its a layer prosses. and shaping is all done by sanding.
the side of the side skirts will be easy. just sand it down and use filler glass for the huge deep skrates.

I've done it soo many times. that when i brake it.. it doesnt bother me any more. Cuase i know how to fix it..lol

Huh? What's wrong with fiberglass? It's lighter than steel, and very rigid.

this is why we dont mold parts to bodies. imagine how pissed you would have been had you had a $8-9k paint job onthe car!

word^^^
i dont believe in body kits...either make it go faster or make it lighter...
everything else is a waste of time and money to me...esp sticking shit to my car that cracks off
skill or not
strangely it works on your car but it would not look good on a mini at all

What about body kits that optimize aerodynamics?

it wasnt the carbon...duh it was the clear coat on top of it because it's a shitty product...
body kits that optimize aero are great tho they still weigh more than nothing at all, and shit my cars not fast enough to use it
the wing barely helps and it's reaching out for any air it can grab...now i don't think a fiberglass body kit is going to help me much other than scrape on the ground when i corner hard
bleh

Just because you don't understand the aerodynamics doesn't mean they don't exist.

Ah, that's not what I meant. I meant that carbon would crack, just the same as fiberglass does, if it were to hit something like a curb.

Sure it would! Not on canyon runs or short courses, but on a course like WSIR or Laguna Seca, you'd reap a lot of benefit from a good aerodynamics package.

first off...will...shut up you dont know what youre talking about...you are not god.
and obviously carbon would crack thats why i dont have it all over the bottom of my car
even tho...i dont hit things like curbs with my car
and there arent really any super effective aero kits for the mini other than the one-offs like nuzzo and what not, so im screwed....UNLESS I WANT TO MAKE ONE OUT OF FIBERGLASS
doh

(which i dont)
