R53 brake upgrade?
I have an R53 with quite a bit of upgrades in my power train and suspension. Now my brakes are needing replacement for the first time since my maintenance plan ran out, I'm looking to upgrade. Maybe JCW brakes, maybe aftermarket. Bottom line, I want better brakes but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for them. I've noticed most brake kits are front wheels only. Makes sense since that is where most of the braking occurs; I just want to make sure that there is nothing goofy by going front only. (Question: do stock JCW cars have the upgraded brakes all round or front only?).
What would folks recommend for a cost effective upgrade? What would I expect to pay for a pair of JCW brakes (can't find them online anywhere)? Note that I don't track my car so... Thanks!

R53 JCW front brakes became standard brakes (without red paint and JCW graphics) on the R56 S. So look for a set of those. I lucked out and found a set that were removed from a new car for only $100! Big improvement!
Very easy installation. You'll need R56 brake lines too.

i have an r56 S front brake kit i'll sell you. exactly as what johnna above posted.
calipers, pads, rotors have less than 1000 miles on them. stainless brake lines you need for the conversion from r53 to r56 are brand new. $200 for all of it + shipping why $200? $100 for the brake parts. $100 for the lines. i can take pictures if you're interested.

I was told separately that if I get R56 brakes to make sure to get hangars...not even sure what those are but would those be included? If not I'm sure I can buy them separately.
