Default CHARLOTTE: 2006 MCS JCW (Competition Edition 40/64)

Howdy,
I am back after a while. 6 months without a MINI was painful... Luckily, I was able to score this one 10 days ago:

2006 MCS JCW, Competition Edition (Canada only), No. 40 of 64
26000km
fully JCW equipped
chilli red/white roof/white bonnet stripes

I let the pictures talk...

So after R50, two R55s and one R61, I am back to R53. First time behind "supercharger" and I love it!

Some miniscule "upgrades":

GP1 black vinyl trim (behind the plate on the boot)

Zumsport black finish grill for rear Aero bumper

MINI logo puddle lights

Hankook V12s summers 205/45/17

COOPER SPORT clear corner lenses

What plans have you in store, Tata?
Hope this 1's a keeper. Gen1s, precious.

As for plans, this is it for now... This one is so rare (even for Canada, being one of 64). There are tons of modded R53 JCW, but not that many (left) of CEs (in this condition)...
Factory options are pretty much ALL what I used to have on my previous (4) MINIs. No need for anything else, really.

What I will do eventually is switch rims, looking at NM's Rse05 in white, for next year. Definitely staying with 17s...

Next step is to sort out a proper mount for iPod Nano I have rubberbended for now. And a proper polish to get ready for show season.

Now, one wish I have is to mount 2nd generation OEM Recaros in this car. But, I doubt I will ever be ready to put so much money for the seats, or find them MINT USED for sale...

I am planning to keep this one as long as I can. New "F" series is not getting me excited, and I am not going back to classic Mini (had that I last century...). Only thing that can change plans as it stands right now is possible ROCKETMAN (if MINI decides to finally built mini MINI)...

Agree w/ you, but I'd do all the gen1 issue-correction mods either when needed or preventive tho. Mushrooms, rad fan bypass, PU bushes, coolant reservoir, etc.

Thanks! I will make note of that...
I did put JCW front brace on, regarding "mushrooming". And after talking with main mechanic at MINI about that issue (first time around when I had R50), I am not sure if putting a thick steel plate on top of the strut is a good thing or not...

Other stuff? Time will tell if I need/require doing any of that

Trust the many who'd swear by Craven, VIP or ECS strut plates. They really work as advertised. The ones that go under do the same & raise the front end.
