I dont mess around in the rain haha. I drive realllly slow and cautious in bad conditions. but I think it alters performance and its a pita when it goes off at every stopsign. instead of a smooth feeling the steering wheel fights you haha. im curious what it would do if I unplug it

OH CRAP!
I am having the exact same problem with my car. I had no idea what it was or could be, but I think this is what is going on. I am not entirely sure where all these sensors are and everything. If someone could post pics that would be AWESOME! I definitely don't want to go to the dealer if I don't have to... |

It's the #2. Very simple to replace, 1. Lift the MINI 2. Take off the wheel 3. Take out the fender liner 4. Use a allen wrench to remove the bolt holding the sensor in the hub 5. Disconect the wire from all areas -If I'm not mistaken, the end that connects to the electical portion is blue. Push the tab. 6. Install is the reverse MAKE SURE IT CLIPS BACK INTO IT'S ORIGINAL POSITION. Now that is for the fronts. The left and right are the same part number. In Sire case and mine, the Driver's side ABS sensor was toast. Good Luck Keep in mind too I'm just a weekend warrior when it comes to being a mechanic, so if this doesn't fix the problem, you may want to take your car to a dealer or authorized mechanic. |

Thanks buddy!
BTW, where did you order your ABS sensor from? Is that a universal type deal or do you have to order from a MINI dealer? Thanks! P.S. That realoem site is AWESOME! |

I had to go to the dealer. As for as I know it is the only place you can get one. Yes, real OEM is pretty bad ass. I use a more advanced version at work and it has saved me many times when it comes to finding parts!
