Our dog Jack had to have life saving back surgery and we need a little help trying to cover the costs. Anything you can do helps. Thanks for the support!

Jack won me over with a handshake and a smile. There were hundreds of dogs at the animal shelter that day, but there was something about Jack that made leaving without him unthinkable. His eyes are kind and gentle. His spirit is pure and uplifting. So, when it came time to decide whether to euthanize Jack due to a severe back injury or perform tests and, ultimately, surgery, the choice was easy. Paying for my choice, however, has not been.

Jack is part border collie and his energy is unmatched. This, unfortunately, aided him in rupturing a disc in his back when he attempted to fly onto the couch and missed. Ultimately, rendering his hind legs useless. Several x-rays and an MRI later, Jack is in the OR and I am praying for good news. Surgery goes well, but he has to use a handmade sling to walk as his rear legs are still too weak to handle his weight on their own. However, with several weeks of crate rest and pain meds, he should be right as rain, Right??? Regrettably, no.

There was some negligence on the part of the specialty clinic staff. Jack was burned badly on one side of his body by a hot water bottle used to regulate his temperature post surgery. A second surgery was required to remove dead tissue. Although, I am not responsible for payment for the second surgery, it will take Jack longer to recover and require additional care on my part.

Thanks Chase!

We're almost at 10% of our goal in one day. I'm humbled. Thanks to those who've donated and spread the word!

Thanks Cap'n!

Along with donations outside of the online campaign we've raised over $1000. I can not believe the generosity. Thanks everyone!! Jack's well on his way to getting better. Getting his incision looked at today at the vet. Should go well as it looks pretty good in my non Dr. opinion.

At least three peeps that know me on Facebook spread the link to their feeds, hoping it gets the fundage for Jack.

Glad to hear he's doing better!
