Default Project CB750 Cafe

Just picked up a new project for my dad and myself.

Presenting.... the 1982 Honda CB750SC Nighthawk

Definitely a basket case right now, but should look something like this when we are finished with it:

Going to be a super low budget/make most of the parts at home type build. Planning on making the rear seat out of aluminum on our English wheel.

First "big" bike I have worked on, so I am super excited.

This was our last project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyDIyeILMmc

Started as a Honda Z50. Like this:

Someone else had started chopping it up to make a chopper, but lost interest/couldn't do it. So my dad bought it off eBay as pretty much just the frame, forks, and wheels.

Here it is in progress:

My dad has been making some progress while I am not there. (benefits of being retired ) Stripping unnecessary parts and things to be replaced. Down 64 lbs already. Obviously some things need to go back on, but I am sure the new 4-1 or 4-2 exhaust will weigh less than the stock 44 lb 4-4.
