Just curious do the oil drain plugs have washers? If so is this something I have to get from the dealership or from any auto parts store. Just curious what do you guys pay for oil filters? I just paid $22 at the dealership.

The 2nd gen OEM filters come with the proper copper washers. Buy your filters online:

1st gen MINI - http://www.waymotorworks.com/oem-min...r-r50-r53.html

2nd gen MINI - http://www.waymotorworks.com/oem-oil...5-r56-r57.html

Correct. Just clean it well before reinstallation.

I usually replace the drain plug on any first gen cars. Most of the time the O ring seal is deformed, or dry rotted. Its a $4 part every 5k miles, not alot IMO. OEM filters and Mobil 0W40.
