Default Mio (the Deuce)

After a lot of careful thinking that took me to the four corners of the automotive universe, I chose a replacement for my Cooper. It was one of the toughest experiences of my life driving away from the dealer with my Cooper disappearing in my mirror. It was time. I had a great time as a MINI owner. It brought me a lot of joy to my life, and for that I am very thankful. I will miss my old Bruiser, but it puts my mind and heart to ease thinking he's in the big touge with all the other MINI's whose previous owners have moved on.

-enough with emotional-time-

I would like to introduce m|u to Mio, my new Mazda2.

I never thought I'd name a car again, but the play on words is too awesome to pass up. In Japan and other parts of the world the Mazda2 is known as the Demio. When I saw my Mazda in person the first time, Mio was the only choice I had.

As climactic the build-up was I only have one ominous picture to share today. It's even in my trademark poor quality. I will be posting some decent shots up as soon as possible.

The specs are pretty sweet. 100hp. 2306lbs. Liquid Silver. 5speed manual transmission. The five door configuration make my life 100% easier. I've had the car almost a week and am falling more and more in love with each passing mile. This car may not be for everyone, but it's perfect for me. I foresee an amazing relationship with this little car. I am more excited to get my little Mazda around some cones.

If I learned anything from my MINI, it's that Motoring is a state of mind. The Underground is to be the flip side to the ordinary.

I love our Mazda2 at work.. and i love its 100hp!!! I'm so glad u got the Manny!!! the manny makes this little guy feel like a MazdaSpeed. I was thinking about leasing a Yaris because of this price and size, but when i drive the 2, it totally changed my mind. IF or when i decide to get a new daily, the Mazda2 is top on my list.

I cant believe u traded in busier. It makes me want to cry. But i'm happy your happy with the two.

What ever happened to your love the the Nissan Cube..lol

Thanks everyone. I'm gonna be getting much better shots hopefully today. I'll post up some more awesome camera phone pics too. Believe you me, I want to lower this ride, but I'm gonna enjoy OEM suppleness for a bit. As of right now there is only 1 set of readily available coils out for this car in the States. 1 set of springs too (Both H&R).

I want to see how this little one handles on the auto-x course before I start throwing mods at it. I'm gonna go for a well balanced handling axis like I had on my Cooper. So that may or may not mean coilovers are in the future. Ideally, I'd like a good adjustable strut and spring combo, so we'll see.

The one thing I'm kinda dying for is a short shifter. I had one in the MINI and loved it. I think if there is one mod out there that would transform this car, it'd be that. Oh, and a CG Lock.
