The unit I was with handed the Brit Royal Marines their asses on a combined arms exercise once. They were too cocky. Just like the S.E.A.L. Team we destroyed on another CAX. (That one was where our unit was dubbed "The Roar of the Corps" by Commandant Grey.)

And we were just Reservists.

Indeed...admittedly I have very little experience with marines. But some of the air force types I have worked with have covered both extremes of the competence scale...

I have heard our army unit structure etc is similar to the American marines...being a small army we have to model our units on a more 'expeditionary' concept...

Either way...I as I said... 'Deputy Dawg'

LOL yeah I've never had any experience with Aussie military but that's how you know someone is in the Military the trash talk.

As for the Air Force there's lightbulb changers and then there's the Forward Observers /Para Rescue types.

I still say Bring it Brits come and try.

It's like beating your three-year-old niece at Candyland. Sure it's a win, but it's not going in the trophy cabinet.

I got to work with some of the British SAS in Afghanistan. Not bad fellows overall and they can throw one heck of a party, but they were a bit cocky, nearly shot me while I was out running, and their commander got into a debate with me over how to pronounce the word "project" (as in "science project"). I'm lucky to have lost the British accent I'd picked up since people looked at me awfully funny when I'd say Aluminum and Advertisement. Might be why I now own a car with a Bonnet and a Boot now though.

Sorry to revive an old thread but it's somewhat topical and I feel like sharing.
