Default Mr Jim's other British car part 2...the 69

OK, this is the best of the best. This is a very early 69 TR6 and it originally was sold in San Fransico (sp) and made it's way to PA where is stayed in a barn for 10 years until I found it in 1994. The restoration began in 1995, was done by my friend and I who were in the Triumph restoration bussiness. The car was a basket case, but it was a very early 69. So it got a full ground up restoration, every part, replaced, repaired or renewed in finish to appear as a brand new 1969 TR6. Over 700 hours labor and a **** load of money it was complete. I did the paint, the upolostry, wiring, everything, except the chroming of the front bumper and the leather rewrapping of the stering wheel. It is driven everywhere, no trailer queen here, autocrossed, etc. Two time national best in show from the TR250/TR6 Club 6-PACK. next to the MINI it is like a toy and worlds apart in driving. OK, so there is one more British car in the house, the Disco on the street is ours too. This is an all british car family, finally!!
Thanks for checking out our rides. Oh, now I need an MU decal for the 69!
Mr. Jim

Thanks. I have seen one or two with the rover v-8, but mostly they put them in the TR7 body (the Wedge). Triumph did make a V-8 version, TR8 but a lot of people do the v8 conversion. I did two myself, but both of them got smashed by old people driving big ass cars that shouldn't have been driving at all. Buick had the 215 V8 in the early 60's and racers really liked them. But GM sold the rights to Rover and the rest is history.

Thanks for all the comments . You can see that I'm used to a world where everything was done to stock specs but now with the MINI it's a whole new world and it's very cool. You guys and gals have some of the sweetest rides I have ever seen also

No, actually it hasn't been to show since 2002. It's been in storage for about 3 years as I had no place to keep it were I lived. Now that we're in a house again and it's in the garage it sould be seing much more road time. If it goes to any shows I'll enter it as display only. It's just a pleasure to drive, what a world of difference compared to the MINI though which of course is a very pleasure to drive too! Too many roads and not enough time.
