Default Furniture for Gamers?

So, I built a few pieces of furniture for my new apartment and I was thinking that some other gamers would be interested in buying some of this stuff for themselves.

I just want to know, would this kinda stuff be something you guys would buy for yourselves? What would you pay for it?

The first piece I wanted to show you is an end table. Its is a 4:1 scale NES cartridge with storage for almost 30 NES cartridges in the slot at the end of the 'cartridge'. The legs are handmade by me, bent steel and powdercoated black. The texture is scale to the actual game.

I'm not sure of the legality with using a color decal replica of a Super Mario Bros. cart but its what I'm putting on my own table. I could just leave it blank and you could get your own decal or just leave it blank.

I'll get a better picture of it painted tomorrow.

What do you think?

My next piece is going to be a SNES controller coffee table.

Very cool idea! If it's for personal use I say put whatever you want on it, but you may have trouble selling them. The SNES coffee table should look great. Are the round buttons going to be coasters?

Those would both be cool and I can think of all sorts of people who would be interested in them. Price I have no idea though. I know I built a steering wheel stand for my xbox wheel and it cost me a lot more than I thought it would.

The NES Holder slots you might consider changing to hold the current gen Game/DVD case size as I don't see much demand to store NES games. Sure there's the odd collector or two out there but I can see a lot more interest if you can store xbox/ps/dvd's etc in it.

I must say it does look cool and any gamer would be proud to sport some retro gaming furniture like that. Good job.

The vintage NES market is going crazy right now. Over the past year the entire retro or vintage (whatever you wanna call it) has blown up. Paint that table up and sign up over on www.Nintendoage.com. I'm sure you'll find yourself VERY busy very fast. I'd say a solid $350-$550 before shipping would be a good starting point. If you see what some collectors pay for some games you'll see the price is justified.

...How 'bout some Sega-themed furniture for your buddy Paul....

That's a great idea, Paul. I'm going to register and see what those guys think.

Have an idea as to what you'd want? I'm open to making anything!
