Yeah that stuff gets confusing. I understand the concept, sorta. So if I had a 50mm lens on my D60 it would really be 75mm because I dont have a full-frame camera?

Yes basically because the sensor is not large enough to catch the same light as a full frame. It is really called a crop factor and I think crop is the optimum word.

Or think of when you buy a point and shoot and it will list the focal length as 6.2-18.6mm (35mm film equivalent: 35-105mm).

Yep my Olympus has a 2.3" sensor so the 4.6-92mm lens 35mm equivalent is 26-520mm (according to Olympus anyway)

Yeah through glass I thought I got an angle that you wouldn't be able to tell. But now that i look at it again I see a circle artifact the bottom and a line the left. I might be able to fix that.

sorry to continue the threadjack I swear this is the last of it. I came across a 35mm equivalent converter.

It's a pretty simple calculation. You need to know the sensor size of the camera you're using in relation to a full size sensor. In my case, my 30D is a 1.6 crop size. To calculate the actual focal length of the shot from the focal length of the lens you multiply it by 1.6. So if I'm using a 100mm lens, I'm taking a shot with a 160mm focal length.

So I went go-karting January 10 and I was going to do some panning shots. But apparently I left the camera on in the bag and forgot my extra battery. FAIL but droid did ok

Man good job with the droid. I love the phone, but still kind of hate the camera. It is like press the shutter and then random number generator counts down until it actually takes the picture. I am amazed you actually managed to take a good action photo.

Yeah you don't want to see the other 25 pics I took and still didn't get the result I wanted. I wanted a classic panning shot and I swear it would show me a flash of a preview of that pic right before it would take the real pic. It has to be an app problem. I am useing camera magic. Will be looking for a better app. I would even pay for it haha.
