Yeah thanks for the input. I considering using the oven since I don't have a heat gun. Would doing the tail lights be similar?

I did a write up of the tails a while ago. No oven, just slowly break the seal inching along the seam. I'd link you but I'm on my phone.

i see. i've read to use a dremel, but i was just wondering if i could use the oven since as of now i don't have a dremel.

the dremel is only really needed to break the seal, maybe an inch at the most. you could essentially get the same result by slowly cutting the same spot with an exacto.
the material/bonding agent used between the tails and the headlights are not the same so the oven has no significance when doing the tail lights.

well i did it! and it turned out better than i had expected! unfortunately when i turned the lights on there is some dust i forgot to remove.. so i'll have to clean that up. other than that they look great
