Just ordered this frame:

Transition Trail-or-Park (pronounced "trailer park", haha)... I can't wait to start building it up, it's gonna be a sick little single-speed thrasher. I didn't actually get any of the components shown in this photo, just the frame. I'm actually going full-rigid for the initial build, so no suspension up front.

Here's the fork I'll probably get...

I sold my beloved Cannondale last summer. It was time to pass it on to another...it served me well for over a decade.

that bike had more $$$ in parts on it than the original cost me. Started life as a rigid M1000. Broke the frame at the BB (jumping with the shop mechanic - 6'1" and 240ish + aluminum = bad idea). C'Dale was kind enough to send me a front suspension frame to replace it.

The shop moved all the Suntour XC Pro MicroDrive stuff over. Ran that until I wore it out. I had two sets of original Mavic SUP Ceramic wheels...one with Suntour hubs, the other with Ringlé. I had the frame rebuilt in '00 with all new XT stuff and converted to V-brakes, 9sp, etc with a new rear Ringlé freehub.

At it's lightest, it tipped the scales at 22lbs. I kept breaking titanium and CF **** (shattered a Kestrel bar ), so it ended up around 23.5 with reliable parts on it.

I decided to sell it last summer to come up with enough cash for a $10k downpayment on the new MINI. Promised my wife she'd never notice the new payment and that was a sacrifice I had to make to get the extra car.

How'd I miss this thread?

I've got a bunch of bikes. In fact, my wife and I have 7 bikes between us (no wonder we need a bigger house!).

I have a couple of mountain bikes, but I need better pics of them.

Here's my current mtn bike:

Here's my "old friend" that I got built back up last season:

I've got a couple road bikes too, and I'm mainly a roadie. But I do like mtn biking too.

last weekend I went mountain biking in one of the States with the best twisties and trails; Arkansas... yeah... but still, they've got it made with miles and miles of fun & challenging trails... good weather, excellent beer (hauled with us as we stayed in a dry county) and friends that kicked my butt both days...
