Default The Gran Turismo 5 thread

This week is E3, the end all be all of all things video games. So far Sony and Polyphony Digital have announced GT Mobile for the PSP, which is all well and good, now I gotta buy a PSP, but here is something that made my hair stand on end.

Nice, about damn time!

Not sure how I feel about NASCAR being a part of the game though...

It looks like Forza 3 was also announced, and without NASCAR. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkHRiWpV_68

Yeah, but as long as there is a lot more than having NASCAR part of the GT series now, I'm ok with it.

I was just reading the comments on GTPlanet and I'm starting to feel the same way many others are. Without any real details and no release date... who cares.

I am looking forward to Forza 3, and that will be coming in October.

The week isn't over though. I got a feeling there will be some more information by the weeks end. If not then yeah, not much info, but I'll be patient and wait, besides, in order for GT5 to top GT4, they need to make me happy by including the R50....

I really hope Forza 3 incorporates some new cars. When I skimmed though Forza 2on a friends 360, I recall mentioning that the car list had only slightly changed, and that there was only a few new tracks.

But what can I say, I'm totally committed to the GT franchise. Come October I'll be buying a PSP, I really liked that new trick one that has the controls slide down. They are saying 800 cars, and according to the crazy kids at GTPlanet, that's all 722 cars from GT4 FUK YEAH R50!!! and the remaining 78 cars from GT5P, even though some are repeats.

See that is all well and good, but I'd be hard pressed to believe that they'll include such awesome cars as the Toyota Vitz, and the Alfa Romeo 155 TS. That's what'll draw me to a racing game, everyday cars, not just M3's, Vipers, and Aston Martins. I'm very curious to see Forza 3's car list. BRING ON THE NISSAN PAO!

I do realize too that I am a special demographic, I am drawn to the small unwanted and un loved cars that populate games like GT, so for a company like Microsoft to cater to my weirdness is unlikely, but if they did, I might have to buy their system.

That looks pretty damn awesome!

And I agree Paul, i like driving all the "crap" cars too. It's fun to see just how fast you can get a slow car to go.

I'm got mixed feeling about the inclusion of NASCAR in the game. I realize it'll bring a new aspect of racing to the game, I just feel like I don't want to associate my beloved GT games with the ignorant redneck population that I work with that love to watch Skittles circulating around a toilet bowl. (which is all I consider NASCAR to be.)

On the plus side, was that a 787 and R10 (R15?) racing on the Top Gear test track?

Awesome. Though I predict GT5 out nov 2015 if the ever expanding delay trend continue for GT.

Paul I will sell you my used PSP for cheapish though it is first gen. GT5p kind of make me want to keep it but in the end I don't think i am a portable gamer any more.

NASCAR *barf*

*off to wash my mouth out and finish my steering wheel stand design*

Other than the NASCAR (blech...) the biggest thing I noticed was the damage on the WRC car. Hope there's damage on the rest of the models too.

Looks aweomse - but I'm tired of waiting

Forza looks good too - but I have always prefered GT > Forza

Too bad I only have an X Box, when GT5 comes out will be the day I finally break down and get a PS3 (and a 1080p tv too I guess) that's for Hollis & Ivan...haha

I don't have a PS3 or an xbox.

I'm not going to buy an xbox.

I may have to buy a PS3 - since I don't have a blu-ray player yet to go with my fancy new TV, it will be a 2 birds / 1 stone type thing.

Noticed that too, I remember back when GT first came out, the it had something to do with the licenses that they could show damage, wonder what changed...

NASCAR, guess you have to include everyone, guess you don't have to play that part...

Looking forward to this..

Agreed. I doubt we'll see damage on non-rally cars though due to manufacturers having issues with it.

Can't friggin wait! My Logitech wheel actually gets here today.

^ Sweet! You'll enjoy it a hell of a lot more than driving with the controller.

Downloaded the trailer on Gran Turismo TV so i could watch it on the 50"....pure automotive porn. I love the part on the Tsukuba track (I believe) where the camera follows into the fray with the Citroen GT spinning out. Even Stacey got excited and wanted to know when the release date is.
