Default Springs or Coilovers??

So I am looking for opinions here. Being a college student, money does not come my way very quickly to put towards my car. I do want to lower it because I am tired of the gap, its just plain ugly. I know springs will not get rid of the wheel gap all the way but it will help. What I want to know is is it worth it to buy springs now to lower the car some and sit on those for a year or so or should I just save up and wait to get coilovers next fall? I could most likely get springs within the next month or so, I just don't want to waste time and money doing so if it is not worth it. Thanks in advance

if you're planning on getting coilovers, just wait for coilovers. no sense blowing $200+ on something you're gonna change in a couple months.

just save up for coils. springs and labor are a waste if you arent planning on staying on them to begin with.

what are the benefits of coilovers over springs? any performance benefits or just being able to adjust height?

Plenty of performance benefits

-More travel (travel on MINI's with lowering springs is garbage)
-Better damping/valving for lowered ride heights
-Damping often adjustable, rebound adjustable sometimes as well
-Ability to corner balance your car
-Ability to adjust ride height
-"performance" spring rates

That's a steal of a deal considering it includes the front plates & rear mounts.

What i did was use springs till the stock shocks were donezo, and then made the switch. You can recoupe some cash selling the springs. Lets you see if you like springs, as you may want to just jump to great shocks later ... just a thought
