Default Otis: My 2004 R50 Mini Cooper

I have had my car now for quite a while, but I never realized that I had not posted up my car in the Garage section! So, here we go!

Click the image to open in full size.

This is Otis, my 2004 R50 PW/B

Factory options are:
  • Harmon/Kardon Sound
  • Heated Seats
  • JCW aero Kit
  • Panoramic Sunroof
  • Sport Package
  • Convenience Package
  • OEM Driving Lights
  • OEM Grille Badge Holder

And now, for a few more pictures over the past few years:

Now these pics are with and without s-lites. I have since painted them black, and then sold them. Too heavy for the cooper. I have contemplated purchasing some new rims, but I love the weight and the look of the holeys!

Otis has also received a few mods as well:
  • Texas Speedwerks Springs
  • Alta 19mm Rear Sway Bar with Adj. Endlinks
  • Powerflex Control Arm Bushings
  • OEM Cabrio Braces
  • OMP Lower Front Stress Brace
  • aFe Intake
  • Apexi Custom Exhaust
  • H&R Spacers
  • VIP Engine Damper
  • Alta Short Shift Kit
  • PIAA Wipers and Headlights

Mods to come this year:
  • Fidanza Flywheel
  • Spec Stage 2 Clutch
  • Cat Cams Stage 1 Cam shaft
  • Koni Yellow Shocks
  • 205/50-15 Tires

More pics to come!

I have thought about buying some wheels this year rather than the tires for the Holeys. If so, I am looking at either:

or:

I am thinking that the Feather is a little played out in the black, but the silver would look great! What do you think?

Could someone possibly photoshop one of my pics so I could see what that might look like? I have thought about selling the Koni Shocks before I put them on and then buying some V-Maxx Coils instead. Could be a good move if it looks the part!

Wow, now that looks sweet! Hmmm.. Perhaps Holeys on 12mm spacers, going for the "Holey Flush" look could be cool!

Oh and thanks for doing that for me! Gives me good perspective as to why I don't need a project car and should just finish the Mini!

Gonna add a link to my Konis for sale thread that I started over in the Parts Bin:

I am loving the holeys idea. Rolling some sweet rubber and whatnot. It shouldn't matter what tire I am running for sidewall clearance, should it? I mean, the holeys are fairly sunk in..

Do this. You have my favorite color on my favorite OEM wheels. Take out that wheel gap and that would be the tits.

I love the look, my only reservation is it may be too low to DD in Colorado. We have lots of uneven roads due to land erosion and the soil settling, which make driving a slammed car a nightmare. My buddy's Miata has went through 4 oil pans in two years!

Would M7 or H&R springs drop my car a bit than my TSW? If so, I would down for that route!

So...I may have just answered my question. I found some H&R springs that Helix Minisport carries. They say that they are stage 2 (H&R doesn't have them listed on the site) but they claim a 1.2" and 1.3" drop respectively. That is nearly a whole 1/2" more than the TSW springs. While not being slammed, it should def. clean up the wheel wells a lot and still provide an outstanding ride with the Koni Yellows installed, what say you?
