Default Fireballed! Racing

As we approach the new Torrance home of FIREBALLED! Racing, the first thing we wonder is, "How can this be the home of someone as colorfully excess as Fireball Tim?" The parking lot full of Hummers and BMWs compliment the dismantled former home of Staples. It wasn't until we entered the lot and saw the brightly colored concrete stops that we realized we found the place. Less than a block from South Bay MINI, this is an ideal location.

We were greeted with the ultimate in morning refreshments: Monster energy drinks and donuts. By adding some chips, cookies, and brownies, the energy became visible. We were quickly bought off with super secret presents (mine was a purple Lotus Elise Hot Wheels with a chrome interior). Nothing else had to be said or done. The ninety minute drive was justified.

proof of some of the tasty treets...

The beginnings of the shop show a visual masterpiece in the making. Bright colors, outlined bricks and painted floors are just the start. This will be no ordinary shop. A café, lounge area, and video games will all fit within various movie themes. Though grayscale is often too colorful for me, the outrageous plan of styles by Fireball Tim brings a smile to my mouth (it could have been watching us all take turns trying to help paint a wall bright orange). This will actually be a place MINI owners will visit just to hang out.

In my opinion, the most impressive aspect of the shop is the planning for the cars. As MINIs from the dealer are individual, so will be the Fireballed cars. Specialists will help owners determine their best plans for modifications. No two cars will be alike, and no cars will be modified inappropriate to the owner. Fireball Tim was quick to point out that his products will not be the only ones recommended. He emphasized his admiration of other tuning companies in the MINI community.

True to his movie roots, Fireball Tim has assembled an impressive cast. His team includes: Hubie Fuh, Tüls, Tim, Howard, Andy, and we can't forget Brian (even though Brian was too busy to be seen with the motoring|underground crew). Each person brings their individual abilities to shape FIREBALLED! Racing. Kathie painting the walls, while StoopidGirl documents and brings light to the project with her ever-present camera.

Now for the obvious question: Why would motoring|underground visit FIREBALLED! Racing? Is he holding a couple of Rogues hostage, forcing us to pull the troops together for a dangerous rescue mission? For someone known to have the fastest drag racing MINI, it must have been something. Through their work, FIREBALLED! Racing has brought engine performance in the MINI to new levels. Yet, in bringing to market a single product, their strive is to find the MINI's limits will help the tuning community. Stay tuned for updates on FIREBALLED! Racing.
